The latest stable version, the 2.0 builds on the 17920th, was released on 25 January this year and has its strength in size (only 312 KB). The μTorrent client comes in English (even language packs are available separately for another 49 languages, including Italian), is now only available for Windows NT/2000 to a 7, 32 and 64 bits, and is supported by Wine for run on other operating systems, the Mac version is still in Beta version, 0.9.2.

Its main features, to name a few, have the ability to make multiple downloads at the same time, management of bandwidth, the ability to limit the transfer rate, both globally and for individual download, the function of fast restart of transfers interrupted, the protocol trackerless support (Mainline DHT), the RSS and UPnP support for all versions of Windows and an intelligent disk cache.

The BitTorrent protocol trackerless became important after the closure, already anticipated by some months, the main tracker The Pirate Bay.

Now the client uses a distributed hash table (DHT), which makes the system more reliable and not subject to falls (as an alternative to the service offered by a single node, which may suffer). Another peculiarity of Falcon will be the 'Easy Sharing, namely the ability to send torrents to your friends, who do not have a client for download.The streams will be received as direct links to downloadable files, simplifying the procedure.

μTorrent can currently rely on a pool of about 50 million people every month.. Unfortunately the source code remains closed and this does not help the spread and confidence in the community peer-to-peer.
